askRobin is based in Estonia but serves consumers in Latin America; the company first started in Mexico in late 2017, creating a Facebook Messenger chatbot to provide financial education; since then the company has pivoted to a similar model to Credit Karma to help consumers find suitable products; the result is that consumers get better offers through competition; the company now helps consumers in Argentina, Colombia and Peru; the recent $1.7 million seed round included Change Ventures, Vereeni Early Stage Fund, BENE Asia Capital and Lemonade Stand.
