Now, that Labor Day is behind us, the kids are back in school and the days are getting shorter. Fall will be here before we know it and for fintech professionals fall is conference season with a number of major events happening around the globe. While LendIt Fintech USA happens in the spring many, if not most, of the other major fintech events of the year are in the fall. The 25th annual ABS East event kicks off the fall conference season in Miami. It is the leading fall conference for the structured finance industry and they have added a fintech component to the event in recent years. Here is what ABS East has to say about their event:

Finovate is best known for their startup presentations. Many of today’s household names in fintech, companies such as LendingClub, Prosper, OnDeck and Credit Karma, all presented there while still young startup firms. The Online Lending Policy Summit is the annual event of the Online Lending Policy Institute in Washington. This is where the marketplace lending industry gathers to meet with lawmakers and to discuss regulation. As always there is a big focus on payments but they also cover cybersecurity, regtech, banking, blockchain & crypto, digital trust and yes, even some alternative lending.

Moneyconf has had an interesting history. It was initially part of Web Summit, then it moved to a standalone conference for a couple of years, and now it is back again. It is a track within the huge tech event that is Web Summit.

ABS Tech Conference

This event is put on by IMN, the same people who produce ABS East. So, it has a strong bent towards structured finance. It used to be called the IMN Investors Conference on Marketplace Lending but they have changed the name to ABS Tech for their fifth annual event. I will be chairing a panel session again this year.
The structured finance sector is not immune from the rampant spread of technology, and innovations in the FinTech space that are occurring at an ever-accelerating rate. This event is put on by the Opal Group and is the only west coast event in this roundup. This is its fourth year and I have never attended in the past but this year I will be speaking on a session there.
The Summit is an educational forum designed for investors, issuers, platforms, underwriters, banks rating agencies, lawyers, service providers, accountant, and other related industry professionals. At this conference learn and network with industry leaders to gain insight on the newest techniques to maximize returns and reduce risk exposure in this growing area of marketplace lending.
