Revolut recently launched their service in the US and has made some recent hires; Bruce Wallace previously served as chief operations officer at Silicon Valley Bank and is now chairman of Revolut’s US board; Ronald Oliveira, who was previously president of AvidBank is now the US CEO; Oliveira noted, “The U.S. is a different market, but I think the space is ripe for fintech organizations because the technology’s here and most everybody’s mobile phone is compatible with this…I can’t think of anything else I’ve done in my life where I could be at the cutting edge of something like this.” One of the major differences compared to their competitions is that Revolut supports international payments, allowing customers to spend and transfer money in 150 currencies.
