The Paycheck Protection Program officially expired yesterday but last night the Senate reached a deal to extend the program until August 8; when the program expired there was still more than $130 billion left untapped; for the five week extension to become law the House will have to take up the senate proposal before going on a two-week recess at the end of the week; demand has slowed to a trickle so it is likely even with this extension there will still be money left over at the end of the extension; what to do with this money is still very much up for debate in Washington.
