The P2P Global Investments Fund is reviewing its fund management arrangements with investment manager MW Eaglewood Europe LLP; MW Eaglewood has submitted plans for improving the performance of the fund which include fund management changes and a discount reduction plan; further discussions over the fund's management are expected to continue; the fund is also reporting some factors that could improve including better risk default characteristics from loans concentrated at durations of 7 to 21 months and increased utilization of credit facilities. The SME Loan Fund has a new fund manager, SQN Capital Management, and is changing its name to the SQN Secured Income Fund; it is planning to issue up to 250 million new shares to increase assets under management and improve liquidity; it will continue to invest in loans from origination platforms and finance companies however its investment policy will divert from investing in GLI Finance affiliated platforms and will now focus its investments primarily on a range of secured wholesale loans. IBM announced the launch of financial modeling investment app tools with cognitive programming for developers; the development is part of the firm's new IBM Cloud for Financial Services unit; with the announcement, IBM appears to be taking a lead role in supporting investment app development and is also integrating Watson and other cognitive programming. BlackRock's new investment management executive Mark Wiseman has reorganized the business with a greater focus on automated investing for its active funds; the changes will focus on the actively-managed equities business and include pricing changes and increased use of computer models for active investment funds; the firm's passive investments have helped it grow assets under management to $5.1 trillion however its active fund performance has lagged and in 2016 reported $275.1 billion invested, a decrease from $317.3 billion three years prior. UK robo advisor Scalable has doubled its assets under management in the last three months to EUR 200 million ($213 million); this includes approximately 5,000 client portfolios with an average value of EUR 40,000 ($42,659); the firm says it continues to grow steadily adding EUR 1 million ($1.07 million) in assets under management per day; Scalable launched in the UK in the summer of 2016; it has since expanded to Germany and Austria and has reported significant growth from a partnership with Siemens Private Finance for employee investment plans.
