Revolut CEO Nikolay Storonsky says that fintech is just getting started and the best is yet to come; “Fintech is becoming better and better but banks just stay the same. In the future; in five to 10 years time the majority of smaller banks will not be able to compete in the retail sector,” he tells AltFi; he believes the largest banks will survive due to their huge corporate business and that a round of consolidation in the space will allow for a handful of players to compete at scale; big tech could be a competitor but he doesn’t believe they will want to become fully regulated financial entities; as for the future of Revolut, “I just want to continue as far as I can go,” he answered.
